Modal verbs play a crucial role in the English language, enabling speakers to express ability, possibility, necessity, and permission. However, many secondary school students struggle to grasp the nuances of modal verbs, often leading to confusion and misuse. Traditional methods of teaching grammar can be dry and uninspiring, making it challenging for students to engage with the material. This thesis explores the effectiveness of interactive games as a pedagogical tool for teaching modal verbs, aiming to enhance student engagement, comprehension, and retention.
