Sociolinguistics, the study of language in relation to society, plays a pivotal role in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Understanding how language varies according to social factors such as culture, class, gender, and context can significantly enhance the effectiveness of language teaching. This article explores the integration of sociolinguistics into EFL teaching, emphasizing how knowledge of regional dialects, registers, language variation, and social dynamics can improve students' language acquisition and communication skills. The study discusses how sociolinguistic awareness helps students adapt their language use to various social settings, promoting greater fluency and comprehension. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for EFL educators to incorporate sociolinguistic principles into their teaching practices.
