Ичаклар инсон организмидаги муҳим аъзолар бўлиб, улар турли биологик ва физиологик жараёнларни тартибга солишда, айниқса, озиқ моддаларни соғлом ва самарали ташишда катта роль ўйнайди. Бу мақолада ичакларнинг озиқ-овқат моддаларини сингдириш, уларни энергияга айлантириш ва организмнинг сув, минерал моддалар билан таъминланишидаги аҳамияти ҳақида сўз боради. Ичаклардаги микрофлоранинг вазифаси ва унинг озиқ-овқат моддаларининг сингдирилишини яхшилашга бўлган таъсири ҳам кўриб чиқилади.
