Abstract

Abstract
The introduction of nematophagous fungi among vegetable crops serves as an
essential  biological  control  strategy  against  pathogenic  nematodes.  By  reducing
nematode populations, these fungi protect plant roots, promoting healthier growth
and  increased  yields.  Studies  demonstrate  that  nematophagous  fungi  can  lower
nematode  populations  by  60-80%,  which  aids  in  nutrient  uptake  and  reduces
damage. Typical application methods include direct soil inoculation, coating seeds
or  roots,  and  spraying  solutions  around  the  root  zones.  In  the  future,  the  use  of
nematophagous  fungi  offers  a  sustainable  alternative  to  chemical  pesticides,
supporting environmental preservation and agricultural sustainability. As a result,
these  fungi have  promising  potential  for effective pest  management in  vegetable
crops.
