Abstract

Abstract
The study presents a framework that incorporates metacognitive strategies like
self-regulation, reflection, and strategic planning, acknowledging the critical role that
self-directed learning plays in professional development. Developing English teachers'
independent learning skills is crucial  for their  ongoing  professional growth and the
enhancement of their teaching effectiveness. Metacognitive strategies, which involve
reflecting  on  one's  own  thinking  processes,  can  significantly  contribute  to  this
development.  These  strategies  help  teachers  become  more  aware  of  their  learning
habits,  identify  strengths  and  areas  for  improvement,  and  apply  effective  problem-
solving techniques to overcome challenges.
